As a young girl, Ali was always fascinated by all aspects of the arts including theatre, music, and dance. As she grew older she soon fell in love with a new way to express herself, makeup artistry! To Ali, beauty comes with within and the most important thing is that her clients not only look their best, but they feel their best in their own skin too. When Ali started her makeup career in 2014 she immediately started working on short films, webseries’, and indies, on top of working for MAC Cosmetics and starting her bridal makeup career. Soon after she started teaching Makeup Artistry and Hairstyling to Makeup Artist Students at JCI Institute and has been teaching ever since. Ali is always growing and taking hairstyling seminars and classes to stay on top of her game. These days Ali has been focusing on her passion for freelance makeup artistry and hairstyling including bridal, photoshoots, airbrushing, and fashion, as well as working on her very own natural cosmetics line.

Why is hair and makeup your career?
I always knew I would be in the arts in some way or another and makeup artistry and hairstyling just made sense. It’s such a great way to make someone feel beautiful and confident in themselves and seeing my clients look in the mirror and embody that so incredibly rewarding. As someone who deeply understands the pressure of beauty standards and insecurities, I know how powerful that confidence can be and the impact that can make on someone.
What is it about working with brides/weddings you enjoy?
Aside from being a total romantic on the inside and just loving being surrounded by so much love and excitement, I just love making sure the bride gets to feel like a total princess on her day and anything I can do to take a little stress off her plate and let her just relax and hang out in my chair while we get glammed up is a win in my books!
What is your favorite style to do?
I would say I specialize in natural beauty when it comes to makeup, a gorgeous glowing skin and timeless smokey eye shadow, really just making sure my clients feel comfortable in the makeup they’re in. Although, I can definitely go the complete opposite and love a good full glam and cut crease with a glitter lid and sharp contours! With hair I love anything vintage inspired, any way I can make your hair dreams come true is really my favourite style!
What inspires you?
My clients first and foremost. all their diversity and individuality, and that look they get on their face when they look in the mirror and feel beautiful! And of course my students, they inspire me everyday in their innovation and inspire me to be a better makeup artist so I can better teach the future hair and makeup artists!
